I am looking for a pair about waders for my grandson who will turn 8 this month. He wears a size 2 tennis shoe but the wader shoe size is either 1Y or 4Y. I believe he would fit into the 8/9 height wise but not sure about the shoe part. I want him to be able to wear for a while. I'm not sure whether 6/7 or 8/9 is better size??

We always recommend sizing up and letting them wear thicker socks in the beginning
8/9 would be a size up in the boot he’s wearing now
