      Electronic Deer Call
Deer Calls | Whitetail Deer Calls

Electronic deer calls, where they are legal, are an incredibly effective method for an inexperienced deer hunting to call a big buck. But, that applies to the quality of the various deer sounds and not the frequency, volume or selection and timing of the particular sound. But, the electronic whitetail call will produce a quality deer sound for the hunter that is not an accomplished deer caller. E-callers are often bulkier and heavier than mouth calls so we suggest a camo back pack for the caller and other hunting gear.

When calling the buck of choice using the correct call, at the right time and frequency as well as volume will make all the difference. A disinterested buck that is eating or loafing is less likely to respond to a call and quite often will shy away from calling. On the other hand a buck that is exhibiting signs of dominance will generally respond better to a call and quite often will charge in on the first call or challenge. So while learning good deer calling and the ability to accurately reproduce deer sounds is important, experience and learning how to gauge a deer's mode is most critical in a successful deer calling effort.

And, always remember the basics of concealment and wind advantage. Select an ambush spot that offers good concealment and at the same time presents a adequate view of the hunt area. In order to watch your buck, gauge his mode and make a clean shot once you have called him within range, you will need concealment to hide you and your slightest movement and a unrestricted view of your hunt area. The ambush spot should be oriented in such a way that your scent is not carried into the hunt area by the wind. A cross with can work, but a head on wind is always best.

Our last suggestion for improved deer calling is the use of decoys. Depending on your situation and your calling strategy you may select a buck decoy, doe decoy or a combination of both.
